I find that the beauty of experiencing life to its fullest is by opening myself to all possibilities, allowing myself not to be confined by expectation. Seeing how far one can expand their work without boundaries is a reflection of the human spirit and its undeniable need to create, experience and overcome.

Laura Chiaramonte has been performing and producing work professionally for the past nine years and had the opportunity to  work with, Lynn Dally, Pat Graney, Andrew Harwood, Carleen Healy, Jyl Farenhkamp, Casey Pennel, DanceLoop Chicago, Total Theater, Zephyr Dance and Mad Shak Dance Company.  In the past year, Laura performed, taught dance and presented work in Bali, Ecuador and collaborated with celebrated baritone Nathan Gunn and his wife, pianist Julie Gunn, on an original music recital at Carnegie Hall. In 2001, Laura co-founded and directed, Creative Arts Melting Pot, a non-profit performing arts company based in Chicago. The company produced four major productions, created over ten new works, was featured in the PBS Special “The Chicago Dance Project”, performed for Hans Breder, Collaboraction, Cirque Du Soliel, Dance Chicago, and Full Circle Festival. Besides creating and performing dance in Chicago, Laura taught and developed a movement studies class, emphasizing movement improvisation and composition through the inspiration of inter-media at the Chicago Art Department and taught workshops at the Illinois Institute of Technology. She also conducted creative movement workshops with Project Danztheatre Company Kids Program at St. Peter’s School, Urban Gateway’s, the LEAP Program, and was a Artist in Residence at Illinois Wesleyn. In 1998, Laura received her B.F.A from The Ohio State University in modern dance performance with an emphasis in choreography, Laban Notation and Directing from Score.
